Meine letzte Rezension Down the Drain von Julia Fox
With the right amount of humor and seriousness Julia Fox writes about her life being a girl, a woman and a mother. We follow her during her time growing up in New York and Italy up to becoming an international movie- and social media star (with quite an amount of scandalous stories inbetwteen). Even though this book should have a triggerwarning for almost everything, no book has consumed me like this one in a long time. Read this if you want something that is impossible to put down and if you want to find out why everyone is wearing latex.

    Lapvona

Ottessa Moshfegh takes us to the medieval eastern-european village Lapvona, which is governed by a spoiled lord and an illiterate priest who makes contents of the bible up as he pleases. We follow the outcast, God-fearing shepherd Jude, his bastard son Marek, and the old, witch-like Ina who lives in the woods and has an interesting relationship with the Lapvonians. Storylines intertwine in unexpected ways as awful and often disgusting events occur that will leave you thinking "Who would write something like this?" - Ottessa Moshfegh would, and she does it exceptionally well.

    Mackintosh, S: Cursed Bread

A french small town is shaken up by the arrival of an american ambassador and his mysterious wife. Everyone seems to watch their every move, but especially Elodie, the bakers wife, feels drawn to the couple like a moth to the light. Her and the ambassadors wife seem to grow close, while strange and awful events happen around them. Six dead horses just outside the town? A boy who jumps into the midsummer fests fire? And what does the bread have to do with it? I'm still not quite sure to be honest, but i enjoyed this book anyway! A little morbid, kind of rotten, and strangely sensual.

    Daisy Jones & The Six

After finishing this book I was devestated when I remembered that Daisy Jones and the Six aren't a real band. Taylor Jenkins Reid has the ability to make anything and anyone she writes about feel so realistic that you will forget you're reading a novel until you are done with it. This book is rock'n'roll mixed with flawed but lovable characters who you can't help but root for as they work to become the biggest band in the world! Truly a story I want to metaphorically bury myself in.

    Elektra

To write this book you really have to know your way with greek mythology - and Jennifer Saint absoloutely does. This book condensed and simplified several text sources about the trojan war - and told them from the perspective of three women - while still remaining easily understandable and full of beautiful language. Of course this story also contains the feelings, drama, and passion that one would hope for when picking up a mythological re-telling.
