Meine letzte Rezension Phantasma von Kaylie Smith
'Phantasma' is a fast paced fantasy book, I really enjoyed reading. It got quiet predictable towards the end (that's why only 4 stars), but I am currently reading the sequel so ... We follow Ophelia into a gothic manor in New Orleans, in search for her younger sister Genevieve - where she meets horrors and devils - and a phantom. The story progresses rather quickly which I liked a lot, because we are staying in the same place throughout the book so it did not get boring. BEWARE: Ophelia also has OCD, which shows as "The Shadow Voice" telling her, everyone she loves will die, if she doesn't knock on wood three times and she had to knock a lot. It was worth reading for me, so I hope you can enjoy it yourself too.

    Die Gilde der Schwarzen Magier 1

    Am Tag der Säuberung, ein Ereignis an dem Kyralia die Haupstadt Irmadins von Bettlern, Obdachlosen und Armen 'gereinigt' wird, wehren sich Kinder und Jugendliche in dem sie Steine werfen, die nutzlos an den Schilden der Magier abprallen. Bis Sonea einen Stein wirft gefüttert mit ihrem Hass und ihrer Wut auf die Magier. Der Stein trifft sein Ziel. Den Magiern wird klar, dass jemand magisches Potenzial hat und wollen diese Person finden. Die Jagd beginnt. 'Die Rebellin' gehört zu meinen Liebslingsbüchern of all time. Ich hatte so etwas noch nie vorher gelesen und war neu und erfrischend und einfach unfassbar gut. Die Story ist leicht nachvollziehbar, die Charaktere realistisch und der Schreibstil sehr angenehm. Ich bin nur so durch die Seiten geflogen. Das Worldbuilding ist so leicht zu verstehen, dass ich nicht mal bemerkt habe wie schnell ich alles verstehe und einfach genießen konnte zu lesen. Die Geschichte wird aus verschiedenen Perspektiven erzählt: Sonea, die von den Magiern gejagt wird Rothen, einer der Magier und Lorlen, der Administrator der Gilde später kommt noch eine weitere Perspektive dazu, aber das wäre spoilern. Ich lese diese Reihe immer wieder sehr gerne auch wenn ich weiß was passiert. Ich genieße es jedesmal aufs Neue!

    Iron Widow

    Okay, so I must confess. This book stood on my shelf for a while. And then I read it and had to get the sequel like immidiately. The story - the whole world is captivating. Zetian - even hotheaded and reckless sometime - is a relatable character I got so frustrated and angry numerous times. The way she was and still constantly is treated - just it was bad, beause is was brutal, but uuhh was it great for the plot. I was diving head first into battles with her and then the book was over! Just like that. I HAD to get the second book now, but fate choose diffrently. Only getting my hands on "Heavenly Tyrant" today, I had to help me out of the hangover that "Iron Widow" left me in and even though I am going to read the sequel like right now, or at least I wan to I have to finish my incredibly good filler. So read "Iron Widow" if you like female rage, strong characters and an absolut amazing story that hooked me as soon as I saw a TikTok of Xiran Jay Zhao the author, about the goddam LOVE TRIANGLE - the strongest geometrical form. Take that scholars and strategists!

    So Kitty has enough! After accidentally killing a man and getting away with it Kitty wants to do it again and goes seriel killer. She starts to lure men into rendevous with her and kills them. Sometimes she struggles, sometimes its surprisingly easy. The book starts with Kitty talking to the reader, while she strangles a man. Almost casually. The story continues to follow Kitty through her killer spree and why they happen. Throughout it all Kitty is relentlessy stalked by some creep via social media - a creep who knows about her new hobby... So Kitty, what are you gonna do?

    Der Märchenerzähler

    Dieses Buch ist jedes Mal wieder ein herzschmerzender Genuss. Was Abel gewillt ist für die Sicherheit seiner kleinen Schwester zu tun und wie Anna in das Ganze reinpasst. Aber kurz zum Inhalt: Anna fällt immer wieder auf, dass Klassenkamerad Abel täglich die letzten Stunden Unterricht schwänzt. Sie ist sehr neugierig und mischt sich einfach frech in seine Angelegenheiten ein. Anna findet heraus, Abel schwänzt um seine kleine Schwester von der Schule abzuholen und sich um sie zu kümmern - von der Mutter keine Spur. Um Micha zu trösten erzählt Abel ihr Märchen. Der aufmerksame Leser wird schnell merken, dass Abels Märchen mehr Fragen beantworten, als man zuerst denkt. Dieses Buch ist nicht auf die leichte Schulter zu nehmen. Es behandelt u.a. Gewalt, Drogenmissbrauch, sexuellen Missbrauch, Depressionen und Selbstmord!! Dennoch eine klare Leseempfehlung.

    Fourth Wing

    I love the fact that Rebecca Yarros didn't soften her dragons. They are not pets, held domasticated for human amusement - no they are firebreathing giants that will snack on you if you annoy them enough. You disrespect a dragon? Well, are you fireproof? No? Too bad! I have read so many stories in which dragons are taimed and like overgrown lapdogs, but not these dragons. These Dragons know they don't have to listen to humans, they know they are no pets. They don't care for humans in general, only for those they deem worthy. And having talked about the dragons now, let's talk about the story. So Violet (the generals daughter, who is frail and all delicate) wants to be a scribe like her father and is forced to become a rider like her mother, and brother and sister. She has to survive a series of dangerous tasks to prove herself worthy of the education and eventually a dragon. (Tiny Spoiler!) To her surprise (and that of most people) she makes it to the final task of her first year 'Treshing'. This is where she will bond to a dragon or most likely dies trying. And against all odds, she makes it and bonds not only one but two dragons. But that's where the fun only begins... I loved every page of this book and could not read it fast enough. So far it is my top 2024 book.
