Haunting Prince Dracula ist der zweite Teil der Stalking Jack the Ripper Reihe. Audrey Rose und Thomas verschlägt es diesmal nach Rumänien, der Ursprungsort der Dracula Legende. Ich hatte beim Lesen große Schwierigkeiten in die Story zu kommen und ich war auch genervt von Audrey Rose. After Audrey Rose Wadsworth and her handsome colleague Thomas Cresswell "stalked" Jack the Ripper, they are off to the Bran Castle in Romania to become students in Europe's most prestigious forensics school. Here, where Prince Dracula once lived, people are were superstitious and believe in all those bloody legends. Though Audrey Rose believes in science, it doesn't seem like a coincidence when a bloodless body appears. Soon she and Thomas find themselves in yet another thrilling adventure and have to hunt down Prince Dracula. I. Loved. It. After being a bit disappointed with the first installment, I didn't even know if I wanted to read the second book, but since I was in love with the beautiful cover I gave it a shot. And that was the very best thing I could have done. There is so much more going on between Audrey Rose and Thomas than in the first book, but still it isn't the main part of the story. "Focus on how handsome I am. How much you want to press your lips against mine. And definitely do not panic, Wadsworth. If you scream, I'm joining you, and then we're both in trouble." The crimes are also more interesting. Since someone or something leaves the bodies without a drop of blood, old legends and mistery elements are involved, but of course there must be a logical explanation. "Humans were the true monsters and villians, more real than any novel or fantasy could invent." However, this book is a lot of fun especially because of Thomas' arrogance and Audrey Rose's independence. (The old castle with its secret passages and all those mistery murders also reminded me of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.) ...weiterlesen
