The Mister

Cornerstone Digital

'Packed with passion ... a love story full of charm, music and soul-mates ... a classic E L James combo of the sweet and erotic with the perfect ending for romantics. I think it's her best by far!' - Milly Johnson, The Sun
___________________
The thrilling new romance from E L James, author of the phenomenal #1 bestselling Fifty Shades trilogy

London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he's never had to work and he's rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family's noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It's a role he's not prepared for and one that he struggles to face.

But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who's recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past. Reticent, beautiful, and musically gifted, she's an alluring mystery, and Maxim's longing for her deepens into a passion that he's never experienced and dares not name. Just who is Alessia Demachi? Can Maxim protect her from the malevolence that threatens her? And what will she do when she learns that he's been hiding secrets of his own?

From the heart of London through wild, rural Cornwall to the bleak, forbidding beauty of the Balkans, The Mister is a roller-coaster ride of danger and desire that leaves the reader breathless to the very last page.

Rezension
"Like Dame Agatha Christie, E L James is smart enough to give her readers what they want ... a rich and powerful man falling for a beautiful but poor woman."

Buchhändler-Empfehlungen

Lena-Julie Brunner, Thalia-Buchhandlung Cuxhaven

A happy medium story for Fifty Shades of Grey Lovers: A Little bit more love, a little less sultriness. Nevertheless an absorbing and romantic novel which we can highly recommend.

Quite predictable and clichéd!

J. Öfele, Thalia-Buchhandlung Heidenheim

Maxim, rich heir of a dynasty with a title that requires responsibility and different duties, falls in love with his new daily. Alessia is destitute. She had to flee to London and her journey was an absolute torture. She also feels attracted to the Mister, Maxim. But one day she is caught up by her past and Maxim is determined to claim her, no matter what the cost. Will he be able to save her and make her his own? This novel just couldn't reach me. What I liked was the fact that it is set in London this time.

I really can't believe that this book was written by the same author of "Fifty shades of grey". The vocabulary is limited and simple and the book could be shortened by one-third if only the same phrases, sentences, descriptions of surroundings, setting and emotions would not be repeated again and again. The story line ist quit... I really can't believe that this book was written by the same author of "Fifty shades of grey". The vocabulary is limited and simple and the book could be shortened by one-third if only the same phrases, sentences, descriptions of surroundings, setting and emotions would not be repeated again and again. The story line ist quite forseeable and the Albanian (partly not translated) language distracts in addition. "The Mister" reminds me of a cheap paperback love novel bored frustrated and unsatisfied housewifes used to consume after the second world war. I would not recommend it to someone and will put it into a public bookcase immediately.
