The story of this book was not very innovative. Nevertheless I really enjoyed reading it and although english is not my first language the book was easy to understand. The narrative was thrilling and entertaining. The story is divided in several parts which makes the reading flow faster than in the other books of the series. What I liked most was the depiction of Celaenas character. Its the firs time seeing a personality that acts its age and surrounding. I loved that she has is arrogant, moody, cheeky or that she drops a brick from time to time. Moreover she is a spoilt brat who loves fine clothes and candy. On the other hand she is well educated, has a passion for art and she is also good in killing people. I really enjoyed these contradictions. Sometimes I thought that she still was presented in a too supernatural way (beautiful that no man can resist her and talented in everything that she does and some things go a bit too smoothly (but this may be my phobia of flawless characters that pushes through). To sum up, I can recommend this book to people who look for entertainment and can look the other way when the story gets a bit shallow in some parts.
