BSL is the language used by the Deaf Community in the UK and is an officially recognised language in its own right. It has its own grammar and syntax, which are completely different from the grammatical rules of English.
This book is written and illustrated by a team from the Faculty of Deaf Education and Learning Support at City Lit. City Lit is a London-based adulteducation centre, providing courses to over 24,000 students every year. The Faculty of Deaf Education and Learning Support provides a comprehensive programmeof courses and training including accredited British Sign Language courses for both Deaf and hearing learners.
