As in any other city, teenagers in Rome want to soar, they want to walk "three meters above the sky." Babi, like many girls her age, is committed to her studies, following the latest fashion trends, and finding the love of her life. Boys like Step on the other hand, prefer the speed, violence, danger, and camaraderie of gangs. Though they belong to different worlds, they have one thing in common: love. Like a contemporary Romeo and Juliet, Step and Babi must fight against the harsh realities and injustices of life in order to preserve their bond, and, against all odds, sustain a love born outside of convention. An inspiring and romantic comedy, Tres metros sobre el cielo is a portrait of the fleeting and ephemeral nature of adolescence.
