Fifty Shades of Fucked up

This is a short version of my review, to view the full version go to: http://bluerosedragon.deviantart.com/art/Fifty-Shades-of-Fucked-Up-and-Sick-342663462?ga_submit=10%3A1355426786 In an era where sex is on the forefront of pretty much every person's mind over the age of 15, it is not surprising at all that a book like this is a bestseller. However, I must pose one question: Do you even think before declaring such a book as "good"? While it is admittedly quite well-written, Fifty Shades of Grey is a story about a foolish, silly, naive and, quite frankly, self-centered young woman who finds herself intimidated and intrigued by a handsome millionaire she is supposed to interview. For whatever obscure reason, both are drawn to each other and soon find themselves in bed together, just as these things happen. It sounds like a cute, cheesy romance novel, at first. But even in the beginning the reader feels there is something not quite right. At about page 70, I got the impression that this was not an actual book, but a mediocre Twilight-Fanfiction with different names, and it got worse and worse, until, at about page 200, I was sure about my assumption. An assumption proved to be true after consulting Google after reading the novel. In this story, the seemingly cold, stoic, handsome Christian Grey seems to have taken the roll of a sadist Edward Cullen. Other characters are not as obvious, but it is still very easy to see the semblance of them to Twilight-Characters. Aside from the fact that the characters are a bit of a failure, there is also the plot to talk about. Or rather, the lack of plot. Most of the time, there is sex, negotiations about sex and talking to others about sex to the point that it gets boring, even for someone who loves reading porn. I also wish to comment on the complete absence of dignity, especially with the main Character. Not only does Ana accept presents that are probably worth several million US-Dollars from the man she sleeps with, but also does she let him order her around, give her grades for her behaviour and partially dictate the way she lives. While I understand that a book is not neccessarily bad because one dislikes a character, it is still quite infuriating. Moving on to the next point: The dialogues. I can sum up all the dialogues in just a few short words: Christian giving orders; people talking about sex; inane small talk. It is disgusting to know that so many people enjoy a book like that. Seriously people, there is so much written porn out there, GOOD porn, with characters that actually possess the ability to think and act accordingly to logical observations and thoughts. I do not see the need of buying a book like Fifty Shades of Grey for that kind of pleasure.

Genial

Hinreissend und romantisch! Unbedingt lesen.
