My brother has almost all the Behind the Story books because he and his wife are avid readers and he lent me this one since I am such a Clancy fan...

Re-read the original book RIGHT AFTER reading this book!
The original book suddenly became much richer and more enticing after I finished this Behind the Story, I HAD to open up the original book once more! Highly recommended!

"What was the inspiration behind the creation of this book?"
The author of the book is already successful as a major author with her earlier books adapted to movies and a play when war came. She had planned to write a sequence of five books, following a lay-out that is the literary equivalent to a musical composition to reflect "daily life, the emotional life and especially the comedy it provides." But she was only able to finish two books, "Storm in June" and "Dolce", and has written lay-outs for the third book which she had planned to give the title of "Captivity". Sadly, she was not able to finish the this fo the final book. She was arrested by the Germans and was shifted to Pithiviers then to Auschwitz where she was murdered for being a Jew.
The author wasn't available now for interview so there was no way for us to find out in her own words what exactly was the reason she has been inspired to write the novel.
