The Soviet 80s. The story of two girlfriends. Romantic Masha and practical Allochka come to Leningrad after school. Masha dreams to enter the institute and of course to meet the love of her life. Alla has more prosaic goals, she wants to settle down in a big city and to make a good match. In the tour to Valaam Masha meets Dima who is the ship's cook. But she thinks that her true love waits for her somewhere in Insitute. Alla tries to convince the girlfriend in prospects of such acquaintance because Dima goes overseas! Masha's Prince appears only on a third year of studying in the face of a talented photographer Oleg Medvedev. She believes that they fasten relationship and expects Oleg's action. But for some reason he does not make any steps towards closer relations. Egeria and "psychoquack" Alla develops a strategic Oleg's seduction plan, called "Bear Hunting". "Hunting" is in a full swing when the unexpected situation destroys all the plans. Against the background, relations between Allochka and her fiance Andrew develops intricately too.
