Praise for John Green: "Electric ... Filled with staccato bursts of humor and tragedy" Jodi Picoult "A novel of life and death and the people caught in between, 'The Fault in Our Stars' is John Green at his best. Absolute Leseempfehlung! Die Geschichte ist gut durchdacht, witzig, traurig, sie berührt und regt zum Nachdenken an ... John Green lässt sich auch im Original ganz toll lesen! „Looking for words...“

Yes I'm really looking for words to describe this wonderful book. Miles isn't very popular at his school but at least he's good at knowing peoples last words. At the end of the year a tragedy happens and Miles is left with the question: "What did I do wrong?".
You just have to love Greens characters because they are all so unique and fascinating! This book deals with every aspect of life: love, lust, pranks, happiness, sadness and death. It even attempts to answer the question what life is all about and I think after reading this novel you have a slight idea about it. I advise every teenager above 14 years to read this book; you will not regret it and and certainly learn something for life!

John Green's Erstlingsroman ist mittlerweile schon 10 Jahre alt. Er wird auch noch in Zukunft viel gelesen werden, weil er so gut ist! Ein moderner Klassiker. One of the greates YA books today. Ten years after ist first publication it is still as gutwrenching and wonderfull as always. A Must-Read. One of the greates YA books today. Ten years after ist first publication it is still as gutwrenching and wonderfull as always. A Must-Read.

Traurig, aber humorvoll geschrieben. Eine Geschichte mit unglaublich starken und sehr facettenreichen Charakteren, die einen von der ersten Seite an in den Bann ziehen. "Looking for Alaska" is the first novel by bestselling author John Green, who's probably best known for his novel "The Fault in Our Stars". 16-year-old Miles transfers from a public school in Florida to a boarding school in Alabama. There he finally finds friends and leads a somewhat typical life of a teenager. But about halfway through his first year there tragedy strikes and leaves him devastated. How could things turn so bad? Could it all have been prevented? This amazing book is not only about pranks, first love and school like some might expect. On the contrary, it also tackles more serious topics like loyalty and underage drinking. I enjoyed reading this story and strongly suggest teenagers aged 14 and up read it too.

After reading "The fault in our stars" I just grabbed the next available book by John Green in the Bookshop, which happened to be "Looking for Alaska". "Looking for Alaska" is John Green´s debut novel and I think that the reader notices that. I think "The fault in our stars" was a perfect book, a jewel in every which way. "Looking for Alaska" is wonderfully written John Green is the best I lose track of time and feel completely sucked up in Pudge´s World. I felt the hotness of the sun in Florida, the poor furnishing in Culver Creek and I felt fascinated by Alaska. The book is beautiful as it´s characters I think John Green always put´s a lot of himself in his books, which makes them so gorgeous but where "The fault in our stars" was a rounded up book with absolutely no faults and no holes in it "Looking for Alaska" sometimes gave me the feeling of running into Nether Land. I think mostly it was meant to be that way but still it bothered me. But as I just developed a fascination with John Green I most definitely are going to read all of his books. Anyway John Green´s book stay with you, the change your way of thinking and make life more complete. Needless to say "read it!"
