Mark Twain, 1835 als Samuel Langhorne Clemens in Floridageboren, ist bis heute einer der beliebtesten und erfolgreichsten amerikanischen Schriftsteller. Seine ersten Reiseberichte machten ihn berühmt - Weltruhm schließlich erlangte er mit seinen Romanen Tom Sawyers Abenteuer und Die Abenteuer des Huckleberry Finn.Am 21. April 1910 starb Mark Twain in Connecticut.
