Not to be dramatic, but this book changed my life.

Bewertung am 17.06.2023

Bewertungsnummer: 1962852

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

Natasha Lunn is her own kind of hero with this book. In the form of several interviews with therapists, specialists, teachers and co., Journalist Lunn aspires to find out the truth about love, and in doing so, changing her own flawed perception of it. The outcome of this is a neat little book that at first glance may not look grandiose on any scale, but after reading turns out to be, at least in my opinion, required reading for everyone - especially people in their 20's. This altered my outlook on love for the better, whether that be in romantic relationships, friendships or family. MUST READ!

Conversations on Love

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

'Conversations on Love' is a book that took me quite some time to finish, but not because it's lacking in any way—in fact, just the opposite. This collection of interviews is packed with raw and often uncomfortable truths about love, its complexities, and what it truly means. Each story draws you in, making you want to absorb every word. Natasha Lunn's writing has a remarkable way of making you feel understood, even when the stories don't directly relate to your own life. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, but I'd advise reading it in the comfort of your home with a big box of tissues nearby—the ending moved me to tears, which is something I’d have preferred not to experience in front of a bunch of strangers on a train.

“Sometimes, I realized, we lose more from fear itself than the thing we are afraid of.”

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

I was referred to this book with the phrase: “A book you should read in your 20s.” At first, I was skeptical, but I started it anyway and I can only emphasize this sentence. They are honest and direct questions and topics that are taken up and answered by many different people. The author herself tells her naked truth just as openly and honestly as if you were reading a book from a friend or even yourself. You quickly find yourself in many thoughts and situations, which can perhaps be a bit strange, but is also really interesting. The book actually had a lot of impact on me personally when it comes to love being alone and how we behave when we fall out of love and in love and what it does to us as people when society wants to dictate a path for us. I think, above all, the honesty in this book is what makes you realize that it really stimulates something in your head and maybe even changes it.
