Meine letzte RezensionGideon the Ninthvon Tamsyn Muir
Gideon wants nothing more than to escape from a planet that never felt like a real home to her - except, during her most recent escape attempt, she is caught and convinced to join her beloathed necromancer Harrow for a set of trials that will make Harrow immortal. But at Canaan House, where the trials are to take place, nothing is quite as it seems, and with the contestants' lives at stake, Gideon and Harrow are forced to work together to uncover secrets that are greater than anything they were prepared for.
With Gideon's snarky attitude, her dirty humor and her sometimes surprisingly relatable trains of thought, this story is immensely fun to follow along. As there are a lot of characters, it might be difficult to follow along at first, but once you get into it, it becomes incredibly hard to put it down. With all the secrets and unexpected connections between characters that get unraveled over time, this is one of those books that truly shines most on the second read: When you already know what to expect, and you really begin noticing all the little details from the beginning that hint at the grand revelations happening later in the book. Plot twists are en-masse in this book, and it will keep you on your toes until you finally get to the end - and then, the book hangover really hits hard.
