"But why are you coming to Greece to become a photographer? Couldn't you do it in Australia?"
She bit her lip thoughtfully. "Yes and no. I really tried to do it in my own country. I actually had a job as a photographer at a television station in Sydney, but after three years I was laid off. At first, I was shocked because I didn't know what to do."
"Couldn't your family help you?" Philip asked.
"Actually, they did," she admitted, her face clouding. "My father is a lawyer, and he invited me back to the town where we live and to work as his secretary. But I can't bear him helping me. They never approved of me becoming a photographer, and I know it would end with me being scolded." So I withdrew all my savings and decided to come to Europe.
