Meine letzte Rezension Dark Matter von Michelle Paver
That's about it. Told through diary entrys, it is atmospheric, claustrophobic and cold. A short, perfect read for winter evenings and dark nights. You will experience loneliness like you've never done before, it is haunting and gripping and set at a unique place. But it is a simple ghost story at it's core. And that is all it needs to be.

    When the Wolf Comes Home

I did not expect to feel so much reading a horror novel but here we are. This is not a story about werewolves. It is wild, unhinged, gnarly, gruesome and does feel like Stephen King in his best era. Uniquely touching, this book is asking questions no one is brave enough to answer. It simply confronts you with your darkest thoughts and drags them to light. And now I'mma lay down for a sec.

And here is why: this is a book about vampires. But this is also a book about grief. About humanity. About the lenghts we'll go for the people we love. It is dark and dirty and feels like a Quentin Tarrantino movie (From Dusk Till Dawn, I see you!). The prose is phenomenal. If you read one book this year, let it be this one.

If We Were Villains. Illustrated Edition

Shakespeare, Dark Academia and cluster of lust, anger, desire and friendship, mixed with a beautiful language and believable characters. I adored this book, even if it left me emotionally scarred. You have to read it, this one is not only for my fellow shakespeareans.

Be prepared to be broken - and then to heal again. This book ist not only a cute queer werewolf romance, but also a story about the family we find along the way of growing up, about losing and finding what really matters, about love and hate and how close those two things can be, and about a truly memorable protagonist, who is learning to fight for himself and the ones he truly loves. When Ox meets Joe, Joe hasn't spoken in a very long time. But the second he lays his eyes - and his nose - on him, Joe knows: Ox belongs to him. It doesn't matter that he is seven years older and that his father tends to think of him as slowly and stupid, Joe sees so much more in him. But Joes family has a secret, that is going to change their lives. "A werewolf is courting me with a dead rabbit. There's nothing subtle here."

    The Once and Future Witches

New Salem, 1893. Three sisters, who haven't spoken in a long time, end up meeting each other again in the midst of a magical uproar. Each of them has other reasons for running away from another, and each of them has a good reason to find each other again. Magic is everywhere, even though it was lost a long time ago. But it is about to be found again, in the middle of feminist battles and suffragettes. Funny, witty and very, very clever. Welcome to "The Ladie's Union of giving the Bastards what's coming to them,"

    A Rivalry of Hearts

Talking raccoons, a very unique rivals to lovers storyline, fae and humans, TALKING RACCOONS and swoonworthy romance - this book has it all! Edwina Danforth, human, is a well known spicy romance author, at least in the fae realm. Late to her own book tour, her spot was taken by William Haywood, fae, poet, writer of swoonworthy prose. One of them will get a big book deal at the end of the tour, which they are now forced to complete together, and to determine who gets it, the unlikely match strikes a bet: whoever seduces the most people, wins the book deal. Too bad the only people they WANT to seduce, are each other... AND DID I MENTION TALKING RACCOONS?
