Meine letzte Rezension The Red Winter von Cameron Sullivan
I loved everything about this book, the characters, the writing style, the story. Everything worked perfectly together. Flawed characters that make you laugh on one page and maybe very angry on the next one. I still cannot tell you how I feel about some of them in the end, and I actually really love that. If you want actual morally grey characters, you will find them here! I cannot wait to read more from Cameron Sullivan (and hopefully more about Sebastian)

    You Should Be So Lucky

    Ich hab einfach alles an diesem Buch geliebt! Die Charaktere, das Setting, die Charaktere, der Schreibstil, und hab ich schon die Charaktere erwähnt? Eddie O‘Leary ist ein Baseballspieler, der nach einem Teamwechsel, den slump seines Lebens hat und gefühlt keine Ball mehr trifft. Mark Bailey ist ein Reporter, der für eine Kollegen einspringen muss und dadurch über Baseball (und Eddie) berichten muss. Homosexualität und Sport stehen schon immer in Konflikt miteinander (vielleicht schaffen wir es ja irgendwann, dass Sport und toxische Maskulinität sich mal trennen) und dann befinden wir uns hier auch noch im Jahr 1960. Trotz dieser nicht idealen Gegebenheiten, sind beide Charaktere „offen“ schwul (nicht unbedingt anderen Leuten gegenüber, aber auf alle Fälle sich selbst) und die Anziehung zwischen den beiden ist sehr schnell klar. Eine Romance Story, die es schafft ohne viel Drama auszukommen, aber die Geschichte mit so viel Liebe und Herz (und Humor) erzählt, dass man sich am Ende gar nicht von den Charakteren trenne möchte. Große Leseempfehlung für alle, die ein Buch fürs Herz suchen!
