  Piranesi

  This is definitely one of my new favorite books. Piranesi by Suzanna Clarke didn’t only have me in awe because of its unique- and strangeness, it was also beautiful and interesting to read. This book feels like a puzzle—not just for the character, but for the reader too. I found such comfort in the world, in the house and in Piranesi as a character. Piranesi inspired me. His kindness and view of the world/his world is beautiful and left me thinking. This was a strange book, which is exactly why I loved it.

  The Starless Sea

  This book took me on a journey - a beautiful, heartfelt, puzzling journey, and I don’t think I'll be forgetting any of the characters anytime soon. The Starless Sea has such a stunning, unbelievably genius and kind of messy world building, that I still cannot comprehend the thought behind it all. This book takes you away from all the usual and leaves you dreaming of a world beneath the surface of the earth. It makes you wonder about bees, keys and swords, and will make you escape reality for a little while. Reading this book feels like a puzzle that you’re piecing together with every page you turn. The atmosphere is magical and strange with a touch of dark academia vibes, which I really enjoyed. The mood of this book was beautiful to dive into! I can only recommend this one for lovers of fantasy and the strange.

  Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

  I swear, really. It follows Jacob, whose grandfather has recently passed away. His death leaves more questions than anything else, and Jacob is beginning to uncover more and more of his secrets, eventually figuring out that his crazy old grandfather... wasn’t so crazy after all. This first book is an amazing prelude to an adventurous series!! Ransom Riggs, author and collector of old photographs, has taken his two hobbies and connected them. He built a fantastic world around old photographs that he has collected at flea markets and created a found family that you will absolutely be a part of after reading this series. I don’t think I will ever shut up about this book. It is dark and eerie but so creative, unique and beautiful, too.
