Meine letzte Rezension Yesteryear von Caro Claire Burke
I heard a lot of bad reviews about this book. Mainly because people seemed to hate the main protagonist. And even tho i agree that Natalie is, very much so hateable, this simply seemed to be what the author went for. We hear the constant inner monologue, and she is a very mean and deeply unhappy person who thinks she is better than simply everyone around her. She has the need to perform to always seem perfect. To maintain the perfect ,, American Family´´ But there also some very relatable moments, where I think the reader can see him self in a very similar situation, even those moments are small. In the end this book shows what can happen if a person lives in a very tight circle of beliefs and how this can escalate to extreme measures. A book is art and art is sometimes meant to be uncomfortable. Even though the story enraged me to a certain level i very much enjoyed this book and I still catch myself thinking about certain parts of the book. A definite highlight for my reading year.

    Her Radiant Curse

This story took my breath away in many ways. I felt so many feelings while following Channari as Protagonist in her absolutely heartbreaking story. One thing readers will learn very fast about Chanari, is that she loves nothing more than her little sister whom she wants to protect at all cost. But this sounds easier said than done. Her sister Vanna is loved by everyone. She's praised as the golden one since she is glowing from the inside out since her birth. Every person seemingly wants a part of that glow. Including a demon, Vanna was supposed to be offered to after her mother gave birth to her, and it seemed like she wouldn't make it. Their father had other plans. He couldn't bear to give up his newest born child, So he took Channari as an offering instead. The demon wasn't pleased and was about to kill her, but the King of the snakes took a liking to her and saved her. But the saving included a curse so that Channari know has to live as the snake girl. Growing up being hated and despised but everyone , including her father. All she aspires is to get her sister passed her 17th birthday which on that day the demon promised to come for her. But will she manage to protect her sister and will she finally be accepted as the warm Hearted girl she really is ?
