The Butcher and the Wren

I bought the book originally to support the podcast host who wrote it. I didn't expect too much just in case it didn't turn out as good as I was hoping. But I must say I couldn't really put the book aside. We got an amazing and strong female protagonist in a male-dominant work field who's not going to be pushed down by anyone. Wren is a forensic pathologist and is stumbling over one body after another. Years back they had a serial killer with a similar pattern, and she is seeing some overlaps, but she is trying not to read too much into it. With each body they discover, her eerie feeling grows, and all she wants is to catch this serial killer on the loose. This was just such a page-turner, and I would recommend this book to every true crime fan. The author herself has a lot of medical knowledge since she used to work as a mortician, and it flows into the character and blends beautifully with the story.
