Hampson, K: Learning Mentor′s Resource Book

'The book is aimed at professionals who work with young people in a wide range of roles. The resources are transferable and could be incorporated into many different subject areas as well as being used effectively for PSHE. The book is particularly useful for SEAL and PLTS. I enjoyed reading all of the sections of this book and will be able to use some of the resources in my role as course leader for the secondary science PGCE. Overall, I highly recommend this book to pastoral leaders, teachers and learning mentors' -

It outlines key dimensions of the role and identifies appropriate support and guidance strategies to use with children and young people. It also includes worksheets and other printable resources. SENCOs, who may well be working closely with learning mentors or be involved in supporting their professional development, will find the resource particularly useful. So too, will other teachers and teaching assistants responding to the needs of children and young people experiencing difficulties at any time in their school careers' -
