Private sector in Tanzania accounts for over 80 per cent of GDP of the economy. Most of the investments are owned by the private sector. Private sector investment however, has not been sufficient to guarantee rapid private sector growth. The low level of investment is partly accounted for by the low level of savings and access for finances to finance private investments. The private sector has been constrained by many factors relating to limited domestic credit provided by banking sector, inflation, liquid liabilities, lending rates and regulatory quality.
