I Love It When You Lie A Suspense Novel

After all, if there’s one thing the sisters learned from their gran, it’s how to get rid of a good-for-nothing man… This book is told from multiple POVs. We follow Tara, June and Clementine, three sisters who each have something to hide and a significant other they aren’t too happy with, and Stephanie, their sister-in-law who has secrets of her own and the power to destroy them all. So, almost all of the characters are morally grey to some degree and I don’t particularly like any of them – except for maybe Clem – BUT, I do understand why they do what they do to some extent. I am usually a big fan of multiple POVs, but in this case I found it to be a bit exhausting. The constant switching betweet narrators might have been intentioned to keep up the suspense, but at some point it just got annoying and made the story feel boring and drawn-out to me. Which is a shame, because the storyline and the characters are truly intriguing and I enjoyed uncovering their secrets a lot. The revelation at the end, too, is really good and quite unexpected, so that’s definitely a plus in my book. Even though, I didn’t love it, I still enjoyed reading „I Love It When You Lie“ a lot. If you are a fan of domestic suspense novels and/or morally grey characters, you should definitely read this book.
