Mom's Lipstick. Life is a Story - story.one

Great book! I'm not ready to say goodbye to Claire, she is such an alive character and I feel some bond with her. Her mother is just like a real mother with trust issues and lots of care. The antagonist (not going to spoil) is quite intimidating. There is a twist in the book that explains the main idea and it will take you inside the story until you read the last sentence. My favourite part is the antagonistic quote. It makes you think about it for a day or two after reading.

The book is small, but the author, nevertheless, did a perfect job writing a full-fledged story. Honestly, I see so much potential in it to be turned into 200 or 300 pages of Claire growing up and digging into the the family mysteries. On the other hand, you can read it in one day. I personally love this kind of books that doesn't make you sacrifice sleep and spend every minute possible to read a bit more. The writing style here is what I love as much as the atmosphere. You can literally see a building that looks like an old-fashioned gentleman in a group of skyscrapering youngsters and you can feel the grandma's breath when she leans to Claire to whisper mysterious warnings. Reading this book is equal to watching a film. Highly recommend it to those who have limited time and boundless love for good stories!

Die Autorin hat eine fesselnde Geschichte verfasst und dabei einen Schreibstil verwendet, der den Leser zum Weiterlesen anregt. Man kann sich die Welt der Protagonistin lebhaft vorstellen. Sehr schön geschrieben. Leseempfehlung.

Warum hasste die Großmutter ihre Tochter? Und hasste sie wirklich? Diese Frage verdrängt die mittlerweile erwachsene Enkelin Claire bereits zu lange, bis sie sich in all den Erinnerungen wiederfindet. Mit Claire hat die Autorin eine unglaublich starke Protagonistin erschaffen, die zwar mit etwas Distanz, dafür aber unter Hochspannung endlich auf der Suche nach Antworten ist. Für ihren Frieden, den Frieden ihrer Mutter und vor allem, den der Großmutter. Ein toller Kurzroman, der voller Gefühl ist.
