**** What is the Major Content? **** The short stories deal with the experiences the author made as ‚Black‘ woman in a country full of ‚white‘ people (using the introduced terms by the author). Even though the experiences are very personal, they can be generalized in so many ways. **** My Impression **** The introduction alone could already be a very short book repesenting a mind set to think about for many hours, all day, everyday. Without any triggers these words could change already something in this world. The author presents daily insults and also unbelieveably shocking individual moments that are nonetheless true. The words about the purest being driven only by its instincts (a dog), presented in comparison with a wall of white people who see but do not perceive enough. This image broke my heart and opened my mind again, allowing the very familiar thoughts and feelings to enter me. The direct addressing of the reader throughout the book creates a very authentic atmosphere. Each story focusses on a specific aspect staying on its own, my favorite if I would need to choose though is Nutella for Breakfast. It‘s a mirror of my own childhood in so many aspects. **** Recommodation? **** Powerful words that draw shocking pictures to burn the very important message in every readers head. I recommend everyone to read and understand the scope of this book. To recognize the truth in these words can make a change, at least it has a very large impact on me.

Amongst other subjects, she tackles a persistently denied issue even in present times: Everyday racism and microaggressions. Readers are entreated to acknowledge racism, speak out against it, and lead by example. This empowering book's words will undoubtedly reverberate in the reader's mind for an extended period, leaving an enduring impact.
