Alice is Missing is a silent role playing game about the disappearance of Alice Briarwood, a high school junior in the sleepy Norther California town of Silent Falls. During the game, players use their phones to send text messages to each other as they unearth clues about what happened to Alice. The game runs over a single session of two or three hours. There is no formal game master, but one player will need to explain and facilitate the rules. In the first 45 minutes, players create their characters, their relationships to Alice, and their ties with each other. The next 90 minutes follow the characters' text message conversations as they uncover Alice's fate. Quietly staring at your phone has never been this awesome!
First of all the quality of this product is amazing. the cards are made of really good carton and the coloring is amazing. The art style is very reminiscent of Twin Peaks. The game itself is very thick in atmosphere. My favorite is the playlist that is very interesting mix of genres from ambient to progressive rock to folk and country. it contributes to the atmosphere very well. The game works great BUT I will have to say it deepends on the group if you have a very improv friendly group this will work well and is easily a 5/5. if you have a group of people that aren't into improv this could also be a 3/5. The experience of playing a game quietly while staring at my phone texting away has been very new and refreshing to me!
