"Shim Jung Takes the Dive" is a childrens book written by Julia Riew. The book is a coming of age story starring Shim Jung. She is a bit of an arrogant girl, thinking she is better than her peers because she doesn't believe in the coming of age rite the girls on her island have to do. She also thinks she is smarter than the other, simply because she only believes in things that make sense. This makes her a bit unlikeable in the beginning, but throughout the book she learns that no, she isn't always right and she doesn't always know best. I liked this book a lot and would recommend it for children between eight and eleven.
