Chosun - meaning neither North Korea nor South Korea, is the word the people there are suposed to use for the country they live in, indicating that there is no "other half", that there is nothing missing. And dismissing any outside world. Suki Kim writes about her students and the connection she gains with them, making it a very emotional read. This book is a very compelling insight into so-called "privileged" life and education in North Korea, the loneliness that comes with being a teacher there and the subtle challenges in the day-to-day life as an outsider. 100% an interesting read I would recommend to every kind of person...
