A Soul of Ash and Blood A Blood and Ash Novel

Lange habe ich überlegt, wie ich euch Cas Sicht beschreibe. Ich habe festgestellt, ich mach das jetzt ohne Zitate (Ich hab fast das halbe Buch angemarkert, wie soll ich mich da entscheiden?) Cas Sicht war verflucht spannend, denn Band eins erzählt zu bekommen, wie er es wahrgenommen hat? Perfect. Dazu kamen noch die Twists, die in der Gegenwart geschehen sind. Sprich wir wechseln zwischen dem, an was Cas sich erinnert und dem, was tatsächlich passiert, während er auf Poppy aufpasst. Es hat damit wieder alles, Witz, Spicy, neue Enthüllungen wie Rätsel und definitiv einen anderen Vibe, der einfach zu Cas passt und ihn in ein anderes Licht rückt. Ich kanns euch nur empfehlen, auch wenn ich weiß, dass es vielen hier nicht mehr so gut gefällt... I am a sucker for this series.

If you've read my previous reviews on this series, you know its no secret that it's one of my all time favorites. Returning to how it all began, from the point of view, that had been sort of the mystery when I read it the first time around, knowing what has happened since and where we are now was mind-blowing. It was returning home after having been gone for far too long and exiting and new at the same time. Jen has an absolute talent for switiching the point of view in some book down the line, and she defintely knocked the ball out of the park with this one. A Soul of Ash and Blood picks up right after the events of The War of Two Queens, amidst the aftermath of the earth-shattering battle, that left our red-headed heroine, our prince and wolven with more than one mess to clean up. We return to the beginning in the form of Cas telling the story while Poppy is "asleep", with the occasional commentary from Kieran. While thus far we've been able to piece a lot of things together based on the previous books, or were at least able to guess, there are literally no words to describe the experience. Despite the fact that I knew the story, I was hanging on every word. We get so much details that add to this masterpiece of a series and Cas as a character. It was absolutely brilliantly done. Add the new events unfolding in the present and there is absolutely nothing that you'll miss in this book. Long story short, if you haven't picked up this series yet - do it. I can guarantee you will not regret it.
