There are no superheroines here. There are girls like the reader: girls who are afraid of a new class, who freeze before a performance, who finish last. Orysia starts school in Munich and cannot find the German words. Ulyana wakes up in a new city after leaving Odesa. Martynka works out what the fence at the end of the yard means when you use a wheelchair. Vasylynka is the only girl in the computer class. Zirka scores more goals than anyone and still has to learn what a team is. Tonya runs slowly, and finds out what she is fast at. Others bake a grandmother's cake, adopt a shelter cat, go to camp alone, lose a pet, learn to ride a bicycle, sing out loud for the first time.
Every story ends where the girl surprises herself. The introduction speaks straight to the reader, and the book is made to be opened at any page, in a moment of sadness, fear or doubt.

«Тут немає супергероїнь із надздібностями. Тут є дівчата такі, як ти», каже вступ. Дівчата, які бояться нового класу, хвилюються перед виступом, розчаровуються і пробують ще раз.
Орися йде до школи в Мюнхені й не може дібрати німецьких слів. Уляна прокидається в новому місті після переїзду з Одеси. Мартинка у візку розбирається, що для неї означає паркан у кінці двору. Василинка єдина дівчинка в комп'ютерному класі. Зірка забиває більше за всіх і аж тепер учиться, що таке команда. Тоня бігає повільно і знаходить те, у чому вона найшвидша. А ще: бабусин рецепт, кіт із притулку, перший табір, перший велосипед, перший спів уголос і перше горе.
Дівчата з Вінниці, з Одеси, з містечка серед карпатських гір і з української родини в Мюнхені світ, у якому дитина впізнає себе.
Кожна історія закінчується там, де дівчинка дивує саму себе. Книжку можна відкрити на будь-якій сторінці у хвилину суму, страху чи сумніву.
