Meine letzte Rezension Lady's Knight von Amie Kaufman
I love me a feminist, sapphic and medieval RomCom! Amy Kaufmann and Meagan Spooner have such a heartwarming and hilarious way of spinning a story you can't help but fall in love with all the characters and the world. This is the perfect book to escape to when all the current world affairs feel to pressing and paralysing.

The Raven Boys (the Raven Cycle, Book 1)

Blue has been foretold countless times that she'll kill her true love with a kiss. This summer she is gonna fall in love... 'The Raven Cycle' is a beautiful series about love, friendship and coming of age. All the characters have their own issues and quirks to work out but together as a family they're on their way to look for a dead welsh king to grant them a wish. This book is not very plot-heavy and much more a vibe-read but an amazing one at that. Reading 'The Raven Cycle' always makes me feel like I'm on a hike with my best friends an the Appalachian Mountains; it's summer and all is well. Highly recommend if you too like the found family trope, vibey books and a hint of magic!

    Vicious

One of my all time favorite books! Victor and Eli are roommates in college but working on their thesis something goes wrong and the former best friends become enemies. The perspective switches between the past and the present where Victor and Eli find themselves in a game of cat and mouse desperately trying to find the other. The jumps between time make this a thrilling read you won't be able to put down. I love all the characters and the varying shades of morality as well as the found-family-trope. Highly recommend this to fans of Marvel's X-Men and general fans of the Dark-Academia-Genre. Vicious is not only for fans of the Fantasy/SciFi genre but also for people who usually dislike it. The Poppy War

A grimdark Fantasy-Trilogy based on chinese history. Kuang's epic illustrative writing style builds an incredible world and magic system, with flawed and multidimensional characters. I loved the character development. Incredibly captivating and brutal. Be mindful of the TW's.

    The Goldfinch

I loved this so much! And opposed to "The Secret History" I think this deserved every single page put of the 880 and I would've inhaled another 200! Donna Tartt's writing is stunningly impeccable and an art on its own. The characters are so multi-facetted and complex, I could've sworn they were real and as the story moved on became very dear and close to me. While I can see why many people might not enjoy this as much, I 100% believe this deserves all the hype (and Pulitzer Prize). For anyone who likes some pretentious writing, complex characters and relationships and a bit of art-history: This is the book for you! I will say this is a bad case of terrible movie adaptation and I cannot recommend the film at all. Not only did I become so annoyed at Theo because hes played by Ansel Elgort but it also washes away so many of the complex relationships these characters have.

    Mistborn 1.The Final Empire

Everyone was right, I did love this! I've been meaning to get into Brandon Sandersons works for ages but the sheer amount of books this guy wrote really intimidated me. So after some research on where to start, I finally did it and boy, I am sat. Mistborn is pretty fastpaced High Fantasy that includes all my favorite things such as morally questionable gang leaders, the found-family-trope and an attempt to overthrow the government made out to be a heist. The characters grew ton me super fast and I loved the almost sci-fi-esque worldbuilding and magic system. Even though the plot does appeal to some more common tropes the story still felt very unique and I was highly invested in the politics of it all. Another thing I really enjoyed here were the discussions of philosophy and religion, so there really never was adull moment. The ending simultaneously emotionally wrecked me while also leaving me very satisfied how everything was neatly wrapped up, especially considering this is the first book in a trilogy. But Mr Brandon Sanderson when I catch you, we will have to speak some words. That was not okay! If you also want to start your Cosmere-journey I agree with the common (and Brandon Sandersons own) take that this is a perfect starting point. If you don't like this book, you can just stop here and not even have to finish the trilogy and still have a pretty good wrapped up ending! If you do however love this, theres some good news: The trilogy is not over yet and there is even more to be discovered in the Cosmere!

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

I think about this book series daily and it is probably my most recommended book of all time! Based on Greek Mythology Rick Riordan tells the story of a young boy finding his place in the world and making the bestest of friends along the way on his quest to fulfill the prophecy and save the world! Even though it is technically a childrens story, I think this book is suited for pretty much everyone who loves an Adventure! Percy Jackson is a middle grade Fanatsy series written by the author for his son, so he could have a hero like him: with ADHD and dyslexia and that those things aren't flaws but rather a super power! I love how big a role representation plays in these books and how the cast just gets more and more diverse as the Riordanverse goes on. I can also highly recommend his other series because as they are just as great. For reading order, I'd go with the publication dates. :)

Wer drauf steht, unbedingt lesen!

    These Violent Delights

This Dark-Academia book is all about toxic relationships. As Paul and Juliens friendship spirals into something more and they become more obsessed with eachother they learn how far they'll go to prove themselves. Hauntingly beautiful and insanely sick; I couldn't put it down!

    The Night Circus

After I loved "The Starless Sea" when I read it last year, I couldn't wait to read Erin Morgensterns other book and boy did it not disappoint. "The Night Circus" definetly is a new favorite and already a yearly highlight. The more I read, the more I got sucked into the world and at one poinbt I simply couldn't stop. The prose is beautiful and the circus setting just made this book all the more enchanting. Definetly not for people who like linear plotlines and deep character studies as this book has no story-line and barely any characters, even though the persepective changes every chapter. This books is just vibes, but the vibes are immaculate. So I highly recommend checking Erin Morgensterns books out if you wanna get transported into other worlds and experience true magic!
