Meine letzte Rezension The Hunger Games (Hunger Games, Book One): Volume 1 von Suzanne Collins
I'd consider this a modern classic. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend. Suzanne Collins wrote a YA Dystopia that was and will continue to be highly relevant.

    The Raven Boys (the Raven Cycle, Book 1): Volume 1

    Blue has been foretold countless times that she'll kill her true love with a kiss. This summer she is gonna fall in love... 'The Raven Cycle' is a beautiful series about love, friendship and coming of age. All the characters have their own issues and quirks to work out but together as a family they're on their way to look for a dead welsh king to grant them a wish. This book is not very plot-heavy and much more a vibe-read but an amazing one at that. Reading 'The Raven Cycle' always makes me feel like I'm on a hike with my best friends an the Appalachian Mountains; it's summer and all is well. Highly recommend if you too like the found family trope, vibey books and a hint of magic!

    The Poppy War

    A grimdark Fantasy-Trilogy based on chinese history. Kuang's epic illustrative writing style builds an incredible world and magic system, with flawed and multidimensional characters. I loved the character development. Incredibly captivating and brutal. Be mindful of the TW's.

    Vicious

    One of my all time favorite books! Victor and Eli are roommates in college but working on their thesis something goes wrong and the former best friends become enemies. The perspective switches between the past and the present where Victor and Eli find themselves in a game of cat and mouse desperately trying to find the other. The jumps between time make this a thrilling read you won't be able to put down. I love all the characters and the varying shades of morality as well as the found-family-trope. Highly recommend this to fans of Marvel's X-Men and general fans of the Dark-Academia-Genre. Vicious is not only for fans of the Fantasy/SciFi genre but also for people who usually dislike it. TW: Abandonment, Alcohol consumption, Animal death, Blood (graphic), Death, Drug use, Electrocution, Gun violence, Medical experimentation, Murder, Overdosing, Panic attacks, Self-harm, Sexual assault, Suicide (mentioned and attempted), Violence

    Six of Crows

    I loved Six of Crows! Six outcasts on their way to perform a heist noone has ever dared to try. I loved the changing perspectives and the overall storyline and dark and gloomy vibe this book has. All the characters made their way into my heart really fast and I was so excited to seee where this story will take us. The worldbuilding and Ketterdam as a first major place of action was extremely well done and I wish I could take a stroll around town (looking at the crime rates, maybe rather not but I imagine it's so gloomy and pretty!) If you, like me, are a fan of the found-family-trope and morally grey main characters as well as good representation, this one's for you!

    This is How You Lose the Time War

    A great and short Science Fiction Novel. Red and Blue are opposing agents in a war across space and time. Exchanging letters they become not only friends but something much more. This books was beautifully written and the story of Red and Blue ripped my heart out.

    Inspiriert von der Geschichte von Fleetwood Mac, erzählt "Daisy Jones" die Geschichte einer Band in den 70er Jahren. Dieser Roman ist gefüllt mit Leidenschaft, fragwürdigen Entscheidungen und Verrat. Durch die Struktur im Interview-Format lässt es sich super schnell durchlesen!

    The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (a Hunger Games Novel)

    After 3 years I finally read it right before the movie comes out and wow was I not disappointed. Suzanne Collins manages to write such realistic und human characters and hits the nail on the head. Fans of the original Trilogy will not be disappointed. The Hunger Games series will always remain a timeless classic and painfully relevant if not more so today then ten years ago! That being said I am super emotional right now, feeling many conflicting emotions about the ending (even though we all we knew what was going to happen) and I cant wait to see the adaptation!

    This Dark-Academia book is all about toxic relationships. As Paul and Juliens friendship spirals into something more and they become more obsessed with eachother they learn how far they'll go to prove themselves. Hauntingly beautiful and insanely sick; I couldn't put it down!

    Das neunte Haus

    Alex kann Geister sehen und wird nach einer schrecklichen Tragödie in Yale aufgenmommen, wo sie einem geheimen Bund, dem neunten Haus, beitritt. Als auf dem Campus ein Mädchen ermordet wird, soll Alex das Mysterium aufdecken. Dieses Buch ist voll mit dunkler Magie und unfassbar spannend; mich konnte der erste Teil direkt überzeugen. Die Charaktere waren komplex, humorvoll und nachvollziehbar. Das Setting hat mir besonders gut gefallen und ich bleibe gesüpannt wie Alex' Reise weiter geht.
