Meine letzte Rezension Björnstadt von Fredrik Backman
In einer kleinen Stadt mitten im Nirgendwo wird alles auf das Junior Eishockey-Team gesetzt. Sie sollen gewinnen und damit alles retten. Ein unfassbar guter Roman über die Abgründe einer Gesellschaft und was Grauetaten mit dieser anstellen. Immer wieder wechselt die Perspektive und jede einzelne Person bekommt eine tragende Rolle zugesprochen. Als Leserin, die sehr auf Character-driven Bücher steht und auch eine kleine Liebe für Icehockey hat, konnte mich Backmann hier komplett abholen und ich habe die letzten Seiten quasi inhaliert, auch wenn sie mich mit so viel Wut erfüllt haben. Große Empfehlung an alle Icehockey-Liebhaber (kein Muss), alle die sich für verschiedenste Charaktere und Beweggründe interessieren und jeder der so ein richitg winterliches Buch lesen mag.

Björnstadt

    The Raven Boys (the Raven Cycle, Book 1)

    Blue has been foretold countless times that she'll kill her true love with a kiss. This summer she is gonna fall in love... 'The Raven Cycle' is a beautiful series about love, friendship and coming of age. All the characters have their own issues and quirks to work out but together as a family they're on their way to look for a dead welsh king to grant them a wish. This book is not very plot-heavy and much more a vibe-read but an amazing one at that. Reading 'The Raven Cycle' always makes me feel like I'm on a hike with my best friends an the Appalachian Mountains; it's summer and all is well. Highly recommend if you too like the found family trope, vibey books and a hint of magic!

    The Poppy War

    A grimdark Fantasy-Trilogy based on chinese history. Kuang's epic illustrative writing style builds an incredible world and magic system, with flawed and multidimensional characters. I loved the character development. Incredibly captivating and brutal. Be mindful of the TW's.

    Vicious

    One of my all time favorite books! Victor and Eli are roommates in college but working on their thesis something goes wrong and the former best friends become enemies. The perspective switches between the past and the present where Victor and Eli find themselves in a game of cat and mouse desperately trying to find the other. The jumps between time make this a thrilling read you won't be able to put down. I love all the characters and the varying shades of morality as well as the found-family-trope. Highly recommend this to fans of Marvel's X-Men and general fans of the Dark-Academia-Genre. Vicious is not only for fans of the Fantasy/SciFi genre but also for people who usually dislike it. TW: Abandonment, Alcohol consumption, Animal death, Blood (graphic), Death, Drug use, Electrocution, Gun violence, Medical experimentation, Murder, Overdosing, Panic attacks, Self-harm, Sexual assault, Suicide (mentioned and attempted), Violence

    Six of Crows

    I loved Six of Crows! Six outcasts on their way to perform a heist noone has ever dared to try. I loved the changing perspectives and the overall storyline and dark and gloomy vibe this book has. All the characters made their way into my heart really fast and I was so excited to seee where this story will take us. The worldbuilding and Ketterdam as a first major place of action was extremely well done and I wish I could take a stroll around town (looking at the crime rates, maybe rather not but I imagine it's so gloomy and pretty!) If you, like me, are a fan of the found-family-trope and morally grey main characters as well as good representation, this one's for you!

    Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

    I think about this book series daily and it is probably my most recommended book of all time! Based on Greek Mythology Rick Riordan tells the story of a young boy finding his place in the world and making the bestest of friends along the way on his quest to fulfill the prophecy and save the world! Even though it is technically a childrens story, I think this book is suited for pretty much everyone who loves an Adventure! Percy Jackson is a middle grade Fanatsy series written by the author for his son, so he could have a hero like him: with ADHD and dyslexia and that those things aren't flaws but rather a super power! I love how big a role representation plays in these books and how the cast just gets more and more diverse as the Riordanverse goes on. I can also highly recommend his other series because as they are just as great. For reading order, I'd go with the publication dates. :)

    The Night Circus

    After I loved "The Starless Sea" when I read it last year, I couldn't wait to read Erin Morgensterns other book and boy did it not disappoint. "The Night Circus" definetly is a new favorite and already a yearly highlight. The more I read, the more I got sucked into the world and at one poinbt I simply couldn't stop. The prose is beautiful and the circus setting just made this book all the more enchanting. Definetly not for people who like linear plotlines and deep character studies as this book has no story-line and barely any characters, even though the persepective changes every chapter. This books is just vibes, but the vibes are immaculate. So I highly recommend checking Erin Morgensterns books out if you wanna get transported into other worlds and experience true magic!

    This is How You Lose the Time War

    A great and short Science Fiction Novel. Red and Blue are opposing agents in a war across space and time. Exchanging letters they become not only friends but something much more. This books was beautifully written and the story of Red and Blue ripped my heart out.

    These Violent Delights

    This Dark-Academia book is all about toxic relationships. As Paul and Juliens friendship spirals into something more and they become more obsessed with eachother they learn how far they'll go to prove themselves. Hauntingly beautiful and insanely sick; I couldn't put it down!

    Chain of Gold

    Wieder ein toller Jugend-Fantasy Roman! Wie von Cassandra Clare gewohnt stehen die Charaktere und deren Beziehungen untereinander im Fokus, aber auch die Handlung bleibt von Anfang an spannend. Es war wundervoll viele bekannte Gesichter wieder zu treffen, doch auch die neuen habe ich sofort ins Herz geschlossen. Ich bleibe gespannt wie es mit Cordelia und den Tollkühnen Gesellen weitergeht! Die letzten Stunden können unabhängig von den anderen Schattenjäger-Büchern gelesen werden, ich würde aber empfehlen zumindest die Clockwork-Reihe gelesen zu haben, da so einige Handlungsstränge mehr Sinn ergeben und Cassie Clare wieder einige kleine Easter-Eggs eingebaut hat. Meine persönliche Empfehlung für die gesamten Schttenjägerchroniken wäre in Veröffentlichungsreihenfolge.
