The Writings in Prose and Verse of Eugene Field: Sharps and Flats V1 and V2 is a collection of works by American author and journalist Eugene Field. The collection is divided into two volumes, with each volume containing a mix of Field's prose and poetry. The works in this collection cover a wide range of topics, from humorous and satirical pieces to sentimental and nostalgic reflections on childhood and family. Many of the pieces are written in a lighthearted and playful tone, while others explore more serious themes such as love, loss, and mortality. Overall, this collection offers a comprehensive look at the diverse talents of Eugene Field as a writer and a keen observer of the world around him.1911. Contains both volumes. Field, American journalist, poet and bibliophile wrote light verse for adults and children. This volume contains a compilation of his Sharps and Flats column written for the Chicago Daily News (now the Chicago Record).
