""The Jew of Malta"" is a play written by Christopher Marlowe, first performed in 1592. The story is set in the 16th century and follows the life of Barabas, a Jewish merchant living in Malta. The play explores themes of greed, revenge, and religious conflict, as Barabas seeks to protect his wealth and avenge those who have wronged him. As tensions rise between the Christian and Jewish communities, Barabas becomes embroiled in a web of deceit and betrayal, ultimately leading to his downfall. Marlowe's play is known for its complex characters, intricate plot, and controversial portrayal of Jews, making it a significant work in the history of English literature.BARABAS.
