""Poems Chiefly From Manuscript"" is a collection of poetry by John Clare, an English poet who lived from 1793 to 1864. The book contains a selection of Clare's poems that were not published during his lifetime and were discovered in manuscript form after his death. The content of the poems varies, but many of them explore themes of nature, rural life, and the human experience. Clare's writing is known for its vivid imagery and attention to detail, as well as its use of dialect and colloquial language. The collection provides readers with a glimpse into the mind of one of England's most celebrated poets and offers a unique perspective on life in the 19th century.""Now wenches listen, and let lovers lie, Ye'll hear a story ye may profit by; I'm your age treble, with some oddments to't, And right from wrong can tell, if ye'll but do't: Ye need not giggle underneath your hat, Mine's no joke-matter, let me tell you that. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
