Warlock O' Glenwarlock is a novel by George MacDonald, first published in 1889. The story is set in the Scottish Highlands and follows the life of Cosmo Warlock, the laird of Glenwarlock. Cosmo is a man of great faith and integrity, but he is also haunted by a dark secret from his past.As the story unfolds, we see Cosmo struggling to come to terms with his past and the consequences of his actions. He is also faced with a number of challenges and obstacles, including a bitter feud with a neighboring clan and a love affair with a woman from a rival clan.Throughout the book, MacDonald explores themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the power of faith. He also paints a vivid picture of life in the Scottish Highlands, capturing the rugged beauty of the landscape and the deep-rooted traditions of the people who live there.Warlock O' Glenwarlock is a powerful and thought-provoking novel that will appeal to anyone who enjoys historical fiction, Scottish literature, or stories of redemption and forgiveness.""Weel, it was an awfu' like thing, ye may be sure, to quaiet fowk, sic as we was a'--'cep' for the drinkin' an' sic like, sin' ever the auld captain cam, wi' his reprobat w'ys--it was a sair thing, I'm sayin', to hae a deid man a' at ance upo' oor han's; for, lat the men du 'at they like, the warst o' 't aye comes upo' the women.
