The Untilled Field is a collection of short stories written by George Moore. The book was first published in 1903 and is considered to be one of Moore's most significant works. The stories are set in rural Ireland and explore the lives of the peasants who live there. They provide a glimpse into the struggles and hardships of the people, as well as their joys and triumphs. The stories are written in a simple and straightforward style, but they are rich in detail and emotion. Some of the themes explored in the book include poverty, religion, love, and death. The characters in the stories are vividly drawn and are often faced with difficult choices.
