A Mind That Found Itself is a memoir written by Clifford Whittingham Beers, an American mental health advocate. The book tells the story of Beers' own experiences with mental illness, including his institutionalization and mistreatment in mental hospitals. Beers' personal journey led him to become a vocal advocate for mental health reform, and he founded the National Committee for Mental Hygiene (now known as Mental Health America) in 1909. The book is considered a landmark in the history of mental health advocacy and helped to raise awareness about the need for improved treatment and care for those with mental illness. This is the autobiography of Clifford Whittingham Beers. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
