""The Huguenots In France After The Revocation Of The Edict Of Nantes: With A Visit To The Country Of The Vaudois"" is a historical book written by Samuel Smiles. The book explores the persecution and exile of the Huguenots, a Protestant group in France, after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685. The author provides a detailed account of the events that led to the revocation and the subsequent persecution of the Huguenots, including their forced conversion to Catholicism, imprisonment, and execution. The book also documents the journey of the author to the country of the Vaudois, a Protestant community in the Piedmont region of Italy. The author describes the history and culture of the Vaudois, who had also faced persecution and exile due to their religious beliefs.Through his detailed research and firsthand observations, the author sheds light on the plight of the Huguenots and the Vaudois, and their struggle to maintain their faith and culture amidst persecution and exile. The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of religious persecution and the resilience of religious communities in the face of adversity. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
