The novel follows Santiago, a young Andalusian shepherd haunted by a recurring dream: he is to find a treasure at the Egyptian pyramids. This dream drives him to embark on an adventurous journey across North Africa—from the souks of Tangier to Egypt. Along the way, he meets various people who make an impressaion on him. This book did not really impress me. Maybe because I don't believe in God. I am a spiritual person tho but some things thats happened in the book felt more like fantacy to me. I did like the overall message though: to trust one's own intuition and have the courage to follow one's path—regardless of external obstacles.
