Tiberius, The Tyrant is a historical biography written by John Charles Tarver. The book tells the story of Tiberius, a Roman emperor who ruled from 14 AD to 37 AD. Tiberius was known for his cruelty and oppressive rule, which earned him the title of ""Tyrant.""The book begins with Tiberius' childhood and follows his rise to power, including his military campaigns and political maneuvering. Tarver explores Tiberius' personal life, including his troubled relationships with his mother and wife, and his alleged involvement in scandalous activities. The author also delves into Tiberius' reign as emperor, detailing his policies and decisions, as well as his infamous acts of violence and repression. Tarver examines the political and social climate of the Roman Empire during Tiberius' reign, and how his actions impacted the people of Rome.Throughout the book, Tarver provides historical context and analysis, drawing on primary sources and archaeological evidence. He also offers insights into the legacy of Tiberius, and how his reign influenced the future of the Roman Empire.Overall, Tiberius, The Tyrant is a comprehensive and engaging biography of one of Rome's most notorious emperors. It offers a fascinating glimpse into the politics, culture, and society of ancient Rome, and sheds light on the complex personality of Tiberius. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
