Memoirs of the Revolution in Bengal: Anno. Dom. 1757 is a historical account written by John Campbell, originally published in 1760. The book details the events leading up to and during the Battle of Plassey, which saw the British East India Company defeat the Nawab of Bengal and establish their dominance in the region. Campbell, who served as a surgeon in the British army during the battle, provides a firsthand account of the conflict and its aftermath. He offers insights into the political and economic factors that led to the conflict, as well as the military tactics employed by both sides. The book also includes descriptions of the people and cultures of Bengal, as well as the impact of the conflict on the region. Campbell's writing is vivid and engaging, providing readers with a unique perspective on a pivotal moment in Indian history. Overall, Memoirs of the Revolution in Bengal: Anno. Dom. 1757 is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of British colonialism in India or the broader history of South Asia. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
