FiBi aus Möhnesee am 09.08.2010

Bewertungsnummer: 677594

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

This time we are off to Palastine with Peabody & co. . . . . In August 1910 Amelia and her husband, Emerson, are relaxing at home in Kent, when they are asked to join archaeologist Major George Morley on an expedition to Palestine, in search of legendary Ark of the Covenant. Emerson in his usual way, refuses to go. However a request from the War Office and Buckingham Palace persuades him to reconsider. The Germans are increasing their influence in Palestine and British intelligence insists that Morley is an agent of the Kaiser, sent to stir up trouble. Emerson can't believe that the seemingly inept Morley is a German spy, but could he be mistaken? As he has been banned from the Valley Of the kings and has no other immediate plans, he agrees to lead an expedition of his own to Palastine. Though it is not to her beloved Egypt, the trip to Jerusalem will also reunite her with her son, Ramses, working on a dig at Samaria, north of the holy city. Before Ramses can meet his parents, however, he is introduced to a German woman archaeologist and a mysterious man of unknown nationality . Unfortunately, in Ramses's pursuit of more information about these travelers, he discovers something that he must immediately communicate with his parents in Jerusalem, before it is too late. Once again it is Peabody to the rescue. The truth must be revealed , a bloody holy war avoided, and a son saved from the clutches of a cunning enemy......
