Kein schönes Buch... und doch eins, das man lesen sollte.
Ein insgesamt zynisches Werk mit wenigen wirklich sympathischen Charakteren, aber einer sehr besonderen Atmosphäre. Eine große Liebesgeschichte so voller Hass. Ich habe das Buch vor ein paar Wochen beendet, aber lieber noch einige Zeit verarbeitet vor einer Rezension: Ein Buch, das man nicht zu jedem Zeitpunkt gerne liest, aber hinterher froh ist, gelesen zu haben. -

a toxic classic
This story is about an obsessive and destructive love-hate relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. After Catherine rejects him, Heathcliff takes cruel revenge on the Earnshaw and Linton families, leading to profound misery spanning two generations. The story is told from the perspectives of the housekeeper Nelly and Mr. Lockwood. Personally, I found it incredibly difficult to follow this story (I read it in English, and the writing style of the time plus the Yorkshire accent really threw me off). However, it became more intense and exciting with each chapter. Days after finishing the book, I’m still thinking about it... -

They ALL need Therapy
Für mich der erste Klassiker seit der Schulzeit wieder, haha. Eine komplexe, tragische, dramatische und dann aber doch realistische Geschichte über Klassismus & Rassismus, mit vieeeelen Unterthemen (Liebe, Eifersucht, Krankheit, Tod, Abhängigkeiten, Obsession, generational trauma, ...). Alle sind wirklich super toxisch, da hätte es heutzutage ne schön lange Content Note gegeben - und das zu Recht. Man muss auf jeden Fall vieles selbst kritisch einordnen. Wenn man sich dann durch den wirklich KOMPLEXEN Schreibstil und Stilmittel-Einsatz gekämpft hat, ist es ein Roman mit viel Tiefgang und interessanter Charakter- und Beziehungsentwicklung. Hat mir also insgesamt sehr gut gefallen, aber es war schon anstrengend haha -

The Original "Just Kiss already"
Never have I ever read a more "will they, won´t they" kind of book. And it wasn´t for me. I understand why this is a timeless classic, with its critisiscm and discussion of the upper and lower class, being torn between obligation and desire but it was just endless misery in my opinion. Don´t get me wrong if you love a doomed love story, revengeful driven characters and a class discussion you will probably, like so many others, end up enjoying this novel. It just wasn´t for me. -

Wuthering Heights
This book is about too people with love for eachother who, bcause of certain circumstances, can't be together. If you are look for a romatic story this book is not the right pick. I think it is meant to be romantic but because i disliked the characters so much I did not feel it. The way they treated each other was so vicious and rude that it took over the whole plot for me. It is a classic so I am glad that I read it but I sadly did not like it.
