Tolle Ausgabe und wunderbares Buch

Bewertung am 06.05.2022

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

One-shot Lee

Johannes Kößler aus Wien am 15.06.2021

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

To reduce Harper Lee´s only published novel to a book about racism, would be a grave misinterpretion. "To kill a mockingbird" revives not only the american south of the 20´s and 30´s through the honest and clear eyes of a child, Harper Lee´s book is also one of the best written novels I ever had the honour to encounter. Reading the last 100 pages, I knew the characters so well I could foresee, what they would do. When I lost the book in a plain, before finishing it, I could not sleep well, nor read any other book, for I felt, as if I lost a great and true friend. To buy it a second time was only a matter of hours. This book not only defines great writing for us, it states also the only true definitions of courage, honesty, true honour and being human.

One of the Best

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

To Kill a Mockingbird is a book that will stay in your thoughts for a very long time after you finish reading it. In the characters of Scout, Atticus and Boo Radley, Harper Lee has created icons of literature that will stay with all of us for generations. This book is my personal favourite and I would recommend it to everyone with a passion for books and a love of literature.

shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit`em, but remember, it`s a sin to kill a mockingbird

Bewertet: Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

If somebody asked me about my fabourite books, I would say that this is definitely number one. I have never read anything that is more compassionate and warm than this book. Young Scout Finch grows up in 1930`s Alabama together with her brother Jem. As their father, a lawyer, defends a black man who is charged with rape, Scout is about to learn about prejudice and violence, but also what it means to be open minded and to have true friends. Having released the book in 1960, Harper Lee won the Pulitzer Price for "To kill a mockingbird" in 1961. This is the 50th anniversary edition.
