History Is All You Left Me The much-loved hit from the author of No.1 bestselling blockbuster THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END!

Ich bin ein großer Fan von Adam Silvera, was meine Bewertung vielleicht beeinflussen könnte, doch dieses Buch ist mein liebstes von ihm! Ich weinte ab Seite 28 an beinahe durchgängig, doch musste zwischendurch immer wieder lachen und konnte den Schmerz in meiner Brust damit ganz gut ertragen. Es war aber ein positives Empfinden, wenn auch die Tränen Seite um Seite tränkten und nicht stoppen wollten. Für jemanden, der nah ans Wasser gebaut ist, wie ich es bin, ist es also vielleicht doch eine Überlegung wert, ob man seinen Wasserhaushalt so durcheinander bringen möchte, doch insgesamt kann ich dieses Buch nur empfehlen, wenn man Jugendbücher voll Trauer gerne liest!

Das Buch ist zwar allgemein eher traurig aber dennoch wunderschön. Die Charaktere wachsen einem bis zum Ende des Buches alle ans Herz und man fühlt sich beinahe so als wäre man Teil der Geschichte. Zwar bricht es einem das Herz aber dennoch hat es gewissermaßen auch ein Happy End Insgesamt eine absolute Empfehlung

One of my favorite books I read in 2015 was More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. Reading that book I laughed and cried and was just blown away by Silvera's talent - writing-wise and storytelling-wise. I've waited over a year for his next book to arrive and the awesome thing is: he has two books coming out this year! Now I have finally gotten myself a copy of HIAYLM and I must say that I am a bit disappointed. And this fact CRUSHES me. There are many things I loved about this book: -The awesome representation of gay and bisexual boys -Sex-positivity -Supportive friends and family -An honest portrayal of OCD -Silvera's stunning writing -All the feels Adam Silvera makes you feel! -No tropes -The not predictable plottwist But, sadly, also dislikes: -Theo: I never understood why Theo was so special. To be honest, he was quite underwhelming. And I didn't like him. -The sadness: Now, above I stated that I liked all the feels Adam created but I have to exclude the sadness. Normally, a book that deals with grief makes me feel compassion for the one suffering, so in this book it would be primarily Griffin. Except I never did. I don't know why but I just couldn't. So the sadness and grief were overwhelming me and I couldn't handle them. All in all, it was still such a great book but I had put very high hopes in this book and to realize that I sometimes struggled reading this book made me feel some disappointment I'd wished I didn't. BUT: I look forward to Silvera's next book They Both Die at the End which comes out this September and also to read his short story in the anthology Because You Love to Hate Me. I AM PUMPED!

I tried hard to be fascinated by the book based on good reviews I had read on goodreads, but it just did not happen.

Tut euch einen Gefallen und kauft es nicht. Es war wirklich extrem anstrengendzu lesen, da es einfach keine Spannung gab. Ich bin bei jeder fünften Seite so müde geworden. Habe mich regelrecht gezwungen, dieses Buch zu lesen. Ich habe das Buch 'They Both Die At The End' gelesen, vom selben Autor und dachte mir, dass es sicherlichauch gut ist, habe mich geirrt. Ich hoffe jedoch, dass es jemand dort draußen gefällt (:
