    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Cannot praise it enough

Incredibly well written story about Starr's life between ghetto, suburb wealth, gangs, family and the truth that might divide her community - the murder of her childhood friend by a white police officer. Despite Starr's age (she is 16), this is not only a book for young adults. Everyone interested in the Black Lives Matter movement and general activism should reat it.

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    The best

This is the best book I have ever read. The language is easy to understand, the story isn't difficult to follow and the topics are very relevant. I recommend everyone to read this book.

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Unbiased and topical story

I read the book with my classed, and obviously there were mixed reactions, but ingeneral it treats the entire topic with the proper insight and depth. The language is fitting in the given situations and most students (grade 11) had no problem understanding it. I highly recommend it for students when talking about topics like racism and minorities, or social problems in the US in general.

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Very good

I wanted to read the book before I watched the movie, and I'm very happy I did. I found the story really capturing and the plot is a very relevant social issue. The main character, Starr, is very lovable.

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

A book of the utmost importance!

After more recent book bans in America, "The hate u give" fell victim to the mass silencing of content. I read this book back in high school, and I have to admit that I should have paid better attention while reading. The story is mirroring the real world so realistically that it SHOULD scare us way more, in my opinion. A book way more people should discuss and even more people should read (which ultimately will be a challenge if the book is banned in America). I just hope that it will find its way to the right people, and until then I hope schools here will continue talking about it!

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

A strong, powerful, life changing story!

Be prepared to cry and to laugh; and then read it all over again, because it is truly amazing. The most memorable book you will read, with an important message, filled with grace, wisdom and integrity.
