Age of War Book Three of The Legends of the First Empire

In the third installment to the "Legends of the First Empire" - series, Michael J. Sullivan does a fantastic job in keeping up the momentum of the first two volumes and simultanously bridging the tricky part of the middle section of a series. In many cases, this section feels elongated and a tad boring - but well what can I say, not so with Sullivan! As Persephone tries to unite all the human clans under her fierce leadership with the help of the renegade Fhrey leader Nyphron, the enemy is also preparing for battle in order to erase all of humankind. During the brief repose in Alon Rist, siginificant relationships are deeply explored and I got more and more invested in each and every character. For me, Sullivan's character built-up is without comparison and I feel for Raithe, Persephone Suri, Bryn and Roan as if they were friends of mine in real life.
