Innerhalb weniger Tage weggeatmet und super viel gerätselt! Sloan ist ein echt wunderbar tiefer Charakter, der realistisch mit dem Trauma umgeht - wenn auch nicht gesund. Ich empfand ihre Gefühle und Entscheidung nachvollziehbar, auch wenn sie mich trotzdem wütend gemacht hat. Insbesondere Cherry empfand ich streckenweise als unerträglich - beide gehen unterschiedlich mit ihren Erfahrungen um. Ich fand es gut, dass die Charaktere nicht einfach hinnehmen, was geschehen ist und es mit einem Schulterzucken abtun. Der Schreibstil war angenehm und sehr leicht zu lesen, das Englisch nicht zu schwer und die Handlung einfach zu verfolgen. Das Ende fand ich nach dem Aufbau allerdings etwas ernüchternd, auch wenn ich den Gedankengang der Autorin verstehen kann. Spannend war es dennoch und hat Spaß gemacht!

A great thriller that leaves you guessing till the last page! Meet Sloan and Cherry, a pair bound by trauma and what they assume is love - but as Sloan tries to remember the gruesome events, she starts to uncover more than she bargained for. Having characters think, act and feel according to the events prior to the story is really refreshing and makes both of them feel very human, even though I didn't like Cherry very much. I had lots of fun while reading and was captivated by the unfolding of the events - unfortunately, I didn't like the ending that much, but that isn't ruining the story.
