A Grim and Sunken Vow

Finishing this book felt like a huge victory, not because it was bad, but because it took me almost two months to read. Over the course of the series I’ve fallen in love with these characters and despite my worries I did end up liking Lethe as well. I’m also impressed by how well the series is constructed. There were so many shocking reveals in this, that you’d think everything should be clear now. But I still have no idea what’s going to happen next, much less how any of this is going to end. My big point of criticism however, is the pacing. As important and well depicted as Arlo‘s grief is, I think it took up way too much space in the book. It wasn’t until the halfway point that things really started happening, and in a book that is already quite long, that is A LOT of time that you spend reading about very few events. Despite how long it took me, I really enjoyed reading this and I look forward to part four.
