Cold Hearted Casanova

This is the third book in the Cruel Castaways- Series. This time, we follow Riggs.The last manstanding in this friendship. Oppinion: I like the writing and the tension from page one on. The writing is fluid and easygoing from page one on and even easy to understand from a non native English reader. We got both POVs (inner thoughts from Duffy and Riggs). The changes of views aren't linear but happen whenever it's necessary for a better understanding. And then there're the protagonists: Riggs and Duffy. There are the looks and words Riggs und Duffy share and all the bickering that bild up more tension between them. I also like the evolution they made throughout the book. In the beginning, Duffy is very conservative and not outspoken. During the book, we got to know her very well and what she had to surpass. That made her so relatable to me. I feel deeply with her in this book. But Riggs, oh, Riggs, is one other character that I really wanted to get more information from since the beginning of the series. He's like the careless and carefree guy who simply just wants his freedom, but life happens. His evolution is the one more notable since the beginning and makes my heart wide open. I also like the reappearances of Christian, Arya, Arsene, and Winnie. Conclusion An easygoing romance with all the right feels and tension and spice. It's the round end to the Castaway series with all the reappearances of the well known characters. Stars ☆ 5/5☆ The book Riggs Bates may be a billionaire, but he knows money can’t buy happiness. „Cruel Castaways - Cold-Hearted“ wurde von L. J. Shen geschrieben. Es handelt sich dabei um den Abschlussband ihrer Cruel Castaways-Reihe, bei der die einzelnen Bände unabhängig voneinander gelesen werden können. In diesem Band geht es um die Geschichte von Duffy und Riggs. Das Cover passt optisch perfekt in die Reihe. Der Schreibstil ist sehr locker und flüssig gehalten. Die Geschichte ist etwas skurril und hat mich ein bisschen an den Film mit Sandra Bullock und Ryan Reynolds erinnert. Nur, dass sie nicht seine Chefin ist und seine Familie kennenlernt. Duffys einzige Möglichkeit in Amerika zu bleiben, ist es, zu heiraten. Blöd nur, dass ihr langjähriger Freund nichts davon hält und eine Beziehungspause benötigt. Die Lösung des Problems soll Riggs sein, ein attraktiver und vom Schein her mittelloser Fotograf, den sie mit ihrer verheirateten Chefin erwischt. Auch wenn Riggs anfangs kein Interesse hat, an dieser Scharade mitzumachen, findet er doch schnell gefallen an der Idee. Kein Wunder, nachdem sein Boss ihn eigentlich für einen Job ins Ausland schicken möchte. Da kommt ihm eine geplante Hochzeit gerade recht. Was anfangs zum Scheitern verurteilt war, entwickelt sich schnell zu einer richtigen Beziehung, in der beide glücklich und zufrieden sind. Ich habe es sehr genossen zu sehen, wie sie sich immer besser kennengelernt und schlussendlich richtig zusammengekommen sind. Besonders lustig fand ich die Szenen, in denen Riggs Freunde mit vorgekommen sind. So hat man ein bisschen gesehen, wie es bei ihnen, nachdem ihre Geschichte fertig war, weiterging. Die Geschichte konnte mich gut unterhalten. Schade, dass die Reihe damit vorbei ist.
